Nikos Iatrou was born in 1963 in Athens. He studied Management & Organizational Behavior at Deree College. He graduated in 1985. He served his military service in the Navy. He then worked at Alkis Kotzampasis Stock Exchange as a Stock Market Representative until 1991, when he co-founded Hellenic Securities A.E. where he worked until 2001 as Executive Vice President and Stock Market Representative. In 2001, following the sale of Marfin A.E. and until 2005 he held the position of Chairman and Managing Director of Marfin Hellenic Securities SA, the Group's Executive Member and other managerial positions.
In 2005 he left the Marfin Group. In 2007 he founded SILK Capital Partners with major asset management activities as well as investment banking. Since 2015 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of PANGAIA AEEAP. He also participates in its investment committee
