Αntonis Nikolopoulos

Father of two children, Angeliki, who is a medical doctor in the profession and Nikolaos, graduated from Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Science and a champion in kayak Sprint sport. He was born in 1951 in a village of prefecture Achaia. He is the eighth child of Andrea and Angeliki Nikolopoulou, farmers. In his village, he was leaved with his parents up to the age of twelve, when he graduated from the public school. He was graduated from High school in Patras. In 1969 he was recruited in the Greek army where he served for 28 months. He successfully passed the exams for recruiting in the Greek Police force where he prosperously served for twenty seven years. Afterwards his discharge, he has been involved with enterprising in the area of foods and building manufactures.

He has been involved with sports the last 30 years. More specifically with Nautical Sports. He is a constituted member of the team that introduced the sport of kayak in Greece. Since kayak emerges in Greece, he has been dedicated to the development and growth of the sport. Nautical Athletic Club (NAS) was the first union from which he has been served the sport from deferent positions and nowadays he is elected as the President of NAS. He has been elected as a Board Member of the Hellenic Canoe-Kayak Federation since 2000 where he has offered his services as a Treasurer and Secretary General and from 2005 until today as a President. He is the Secretary General at the Institution of Management of Ecological Park Schinias Marathonas. In the 2012 General Assembly of Hellenic Canoe-Kayak Federation he was anonymously elected as the representative of kayak sport in the Hellenic Olympic Committee. Between 2009 to date he has served Hellenic Olympic Committee as a Treasurer and in previous service as Assistant General Secretary, Deputy Member of Executive Committee, member of the Olympic Preparation Committee (EPOP), member of Marketing Committee and member of Athletes Committee. Also he has been elected as the Head of Mission of Mediterranean Team in the IV Mediterranean Games Almeria 2005 and in the IVI Mediterranean Games Pescara 2009.
